Christmas morning finally arrived!! Of course Sam, Ella and Owen were up early at about 6:30am. But I was quite impressed with how patiently they waited for everyone to get up so that they could open their presents. By 7:30am everyone was up except for Jason and Kaisa and so we sent the kids out to the Bungalow in the back yard to wake them up. And then we waited some more......... Finally the kids couldn't wait any longer and started opening their presents. Just as they did Jason and Kaisa joined us.
At about 11am my Mum's sister Jannie came over with my Nan van Hoorn for a quick visit.
Next we headed to Launceston with a quick stop in Deloraine to wish my Nan and Pop Triffitt Merry Christmas. It's probably been 20 years since I last saw grandparents on both sides on Christmas Day - what a treat.
Then we arrived at my sister Tammy's house for lunch. It was the first time in 8 years that my immediate family had been together. Between my parents, siblings, spouses and children there are now over 30 people.
One of the highlights of our trips was when my Dad asked Owen to help him hand out the presents. I was so impressed that Owen knew everyone's name. This trip to Tassie was about family and making sure that my kids know their cousins. It was so awesome that after just 3 weeks Owen already knew everyone's name!
